Last night I attended the Ms. Wheelchair Texas Pageant at the Westin Oaks Hotel here in Houston. I have always understood what true beauty is but last night I was reminded that true beauty is so much more than our “earth body” The women is this very special pageant were brave, smart and beautiful inside and out! I did get  a better understanding about some of the daily trials they face and it broke my heart.  I highly recommend that you attend next year’s pageant or you will truly be missing out on the event of the year!

Congratulations to Kemi Yemi-Ese, Ms. Wheelchair Texas 2010, You Rock!Ms. Wheelchair Texas

Today I stopped by The Guild on Dunlavy to see what I could find for the store as far as fixtures and such.  Wow! lots of great things, lots of beautiful people all treasure hunting, smiling, laughing and seeming to know eachother.  I wanted to be in the loop with them….I guess I need to come more often.  I spyed a ancient looking column I thought would look great in my front display window of the store. It was $150 and although worth it I was there to get DEALS…BIG HAIRY DEALS! The lady at the register asked me “do you know how our pricing/price tags work?” I said “no, I do not” Once I learned the “code” to the price tags I realized that each month the prices go down and down and down. If I wait until April and nobody buys my column  it is mine all mine for a measily $60!!!  So… I will be stalking my column and get the word out for me “Leave my column alone, please do not buy it before April, PLEASE!” Thank you and maybe I will see you soon at my new favorite shopping spot THE GUILD!

RecyclExpress

One green Street has a instore recycling center and we are very proud of it! Today was the first day that I went with my husband and partner David to drop off our recyclable items to the West U RecyclExpress depo.

What a great place…we sorted and mingled with other recyclers. I left there thinking that every city should have one of these!  There were people of all ages sorting there all doing their part. It was actually fun! Check it out and let me know what you think.

Here is what I found to share with you…..

The City encourages the use of RecyclExpress, our 24-hour drop off center located at 5004 Dincans (just south of Westpark near Kirby).  The center accepts cardboard, home and office type paper, aluminum cans, bi-metal cans, plastics #1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 7, and clear and colored glass.  Signs clearly mark where to drop each product.
